Performance Evaluation Of Handover Protocols For Data
نویسنده
چکیده
Using an object-oriented simulation model of a basic client-server scenario in a wireless ATM network, we evaluate the performance of diierent handover protocols. They are combined with diierent error-control protocols to support high-speed data communication by the ABR service class. We present simulation results of the ABR ow-control protocol ERICA+ and illustrate the performance impact of a new hard handover protocol.

Machine to machine (M2M) communication, which is also known as machine type communication (MTC), is one of the most fascinating parts of mobile communication technology and also an important practical application of the Internet of Things. The main objective of this type of communication, is handling massive heterogeneous devices with low network overheads and high security guarantees. Hence, v...
متن کاملNursing Handover Written Guideline Implementation: A Way to Improve Safe Performance of Nurses in Intensive Care Units
Background: In the health centers, clinical data is regularly transferred between health care personnel. The most widespread of these handoffs are the inter-shift nursing reports, which occur several times in a day and could facilitate patient care plan, patient safety and continuity of care. But previous studies and clinical experience have indicated that there is no program for this major pur...
متن کاملMipv6 Protocols: a Survey and Comparative Analysis
As the future generation networks are envisioned to be heterogeneous in nature, seamless mobility in such networks is an important issue. While IETF work groups have standardized various mobility management protocols, such as Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6), Fast Handovers for Mobile IPv6 (Predictive FMIPv6, and Reactive FMIPv6), Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6), Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) and Fast Handov...
متن کاملScalability and Robustness Analysis of IPv6 Mobility Protocols
Fast Mobile IPv6 (FMIP) and Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIP) are enhancements to the standard Mobile IPv6 (SMIP) protocol that have been proposed for reducing handover latency and for localized mobility management. In this paper, we present the results of scalability and robustness study that cover the three protocols as well as two hybrid protocols of FMIP and HMIP. We have simulated user mobil...
